Basic Function

Associate Health Promotion Advisor will provide strategic policy advice on health promotion programs and potential implication of policy options. He/she is responsible for identification and strengthen community/population capacities to take action on health issues.  The Associate health promotion advisor will demonstrate ability to develop and maintain partnerships, work collaborative and advocate as appropriate.  He/she utilizes leadership, team building, negotiation and conflict resolution skills to building community partnerships.

Scope

The Health Promotion is contribute to development of key values and shared vision in planning and implementing health promotion strategies.  This position will primarily work with JHAH and contracted network providers, and may include other collaborative agencies such as Ministry of Health, Kingdom-wide when directed.

Principal Contacts

INTERNAL: Daily with Supervisor, and periodic with Population Health personnel having dealings with the individual or group assigned to receive and give information.

EXTERNAL: Occasional with Saudi Aramco departments, Medical designated facilities, community agencies and Ministry of Health organizations.

Principal Duties

  1. Applies advanced knowledge of population health management/ public health and/or technical knowledge regarding population health, social determinants of health, epidemiology and evidence-informed decision making
  2. Contributes to developing key values and shared visions in planning and implementing health promotion strategies for population/community
  3. Describes how the health promotion programs supports the organization vision, mission and priorities
  4. Develops relationship and engage in dialog with communities/population and providers based on trust and mutual respect.
  5. Demonstrates ability to develop and maintain partnerships, work collaborative and advocate as appropriate.
  6. Recognizes how the social determinants of health influence the health and wellbeing of specific population/community.
  7. Addresses population diversity when planning, implementing, adapting and evaluating health promotion strategies.
  8. Demonstrates an ability to set and follow priorities, and maximize outcomes based on available resources.
  9. Monitors, identifies, analyzes and provides recommendation on trends, risks and opportunities
  10. Oversees the process of community/situational assessment, data analysis , and recommendation for interventions
  11. Evaluates health promotion programs following evidence-based practice in population health management.
  12. Provides specialized and expert guidance on the development and implementation of health promotion programs, policies, processes and evaluation tools.
  13. Provides recommendation on required resources for population health management strategies.  
  14. Applies culturally-relevant and appropriate approaches with people from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational backgrounds, population of all ages, genders, and health status.
  15. Works collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure successful implementation of coordinated activities
  16. Ability to work with a high degree of independence with minimal supervision and competence to establish priorities and balance multiple projects
  17. Ability to react quickly and carryout work competently under pressure with minimal guidance
  18. Follows legislation and internal policies and procedures
  19. Communicate with diverse population in culturally- appropriate manner.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Promotion/Education or related health sciences
  • Master of Public Health/Population Health Management is preferable.

Experience

Minimum  10 years of health promotion experience .

Certifications/Other requirements as applicable

  1. Ability to work with a high degree of independence with minimal supervision and competence to establish priorities and balance multiple projects
  2. Ability to react quickly and carryout work competently under pressure with minimal guidance
  3. Knowledge and experience in developing research strategies and assessing, determining relevance, critically appraising and analyzing evidence
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information and apply knowledge transfer strategies for a variety of audiences
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a high degree of discretion and diplomacy
