Basic Function
Works as Architectural Engineer Specialist with a team of architects, engineers, service providers an contractor to oversee all construction and design activities, Develop medium project designs for in-house construction by contract personnel and review major renovation designs for construction by contract Assists in new business efforts involving specialized engineering applications and develops preliminary cost estimates and participates in proposal preparation and presentation.
Scope
The work is in Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare, Facility Support Services Department, in Dhahran and in Districts (Al Hasa, Udhadiliyah, Ras Tanura, and Abqaiq). The selected candidate will work as Architectural Engineer Specialist for Project Management Team.
Principal Contacts
Works with a team of architects and professional engineers, service providers and contractor in addition to Unit/Department level leaders.
Principal Duties
Roles include but are not limited to:
- Keeps Management advised as to status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and adverse problems.
- Provides technical assistance and guidance lo assigned engineers, architects, scientists, specialists, designers and technicians.
- Assists in the training and evaluation of assigned technical personnel.
- Continually upgrades his/her technical knowledge and capabilities.
- Assures quality, quantity, and completeness of assigned tasks.
- Plans and schedules discipline efforts associated with assignment(s).
- Assures the timeliness and accuracy of oral and written technical reports on assigned discipline activities.
- Maintains proper engineering, architectural, or scientific files and records.
- Performs a variety of other discipline related work, as required
- Serves as consultant to engineering management, providing advice and counsel on special engineering assignments.
- Assists in new business efforts involving specialized engineering applications. Develops preliminary cost estimates and participates in proposal preparation and presentation.
- Prepares and reviews project controls, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects, forecasts and change orders.
- Provides technical direction and assigns work to subordinate engineers and others who assist on specific assignments. Reviews and checks work
- Coordinates and monitors the work of unique field engineering activities and of specialized outside consultants. May participate in selection of outside consultants.
- Conducts or leads special studies on economic feasibility, new technologies, methods, or materials
- Requests assistance from senior Engineers or Architects as necessary to comply with the applicable legal requirements on practicing discipline related responsibilities
- Advice and search for alternatives that may function as specified materials and of better prices
Education
- Bachelor Degree in Architectural Engineering
- Master degree in Architectural Engineering or Construction Management is preferred
Experience
Minimum 15 years’ experience in architectural experience
Certifications/Other requirements as applicable
- Must have excellent understanding of international codes and standards applied like AIA, NFPA,UBC, ASHE, JCIA
- Must have working knowledge of CADD software such as Bentley Micro station' and 'AutoCAD'
- Experience working in project teams and experience in managing multiple small projects
- Ability to speak and write reports in English is required
- Licensed as an architect
