Basic Function

Under the direction of the Supervisor of the Imaging Support Team, the employee will carry out tasks that would contribute to the successful operation of the Radiology Quality Improvement (QI) program.


The employee will be based at the Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) Dhahran facility within Radiology Imaging Department (RID) of the Medical & Technical Support Services Department. The employee will work as an Associate Clinical Analyst during regular working hours as mandated to meet the operational needs directed by Radiology management.

Principal Contacts

The employee’s primary contacts will be with all medical staff within Radiology Services Department (RSD) and technical staff within Radiology Imaging Department (RID), in addition to, all other JHAH medical staff that uses Radiology imaging services to view patient images and corresponding reports. On occasion, the need may also arise to communicate with JHAH medical designated facility personnel, tele-radiology vendor contact personnel and the public.

Principal Duties

  • Perform the service specific report activities throughout the year:
  • Review these reports using key indicators that have been approved by the Department head.
  • Choose indicators for their potential to be quality issues and guide the monitoring and evaluation of patient care.
  • Maintain statistical records, monitor, and act on abnormal findings relating to:
  • Reject/ repeat PACS and mammography images.
  • Radiology exam cancellations.
  • Delayed pre-op chest x-ray reports.
  • Excessive fluoroscopy time.
  • Provide the Department head with a QI monthly report which reflects the RIS status in the following:
  • Radiology completed services and values
  • RIS employee compliance with mandatory training (by percentage).
  • Radiology exam waiting time status.
  • RIS occurrence reports.
  • Radiology OM status.
  • Communicates Sectional Radiology Peer Review for JHAH, Medical Designated facilities and Tele-radiology and update required documentation as appropriate.
  • Investigate occurrence reports received from Radiology personnel, complete the report, recommend steps to rectify the problem and prevent a reoccurrence, and then forward it to the JHAH QI Coordinator as needed.
  • Perform the following duties to manage the information and education for technologist and patients:
  • Maintain employee educational records on each technical employee as a means of recording educational activities.
  • Create or provide continuing educational materials for employees.
  • Ensure RIS personnel are current in all required educational subjects:
  • Fire safety.
  • Infection control.
  • Hazmat.
  • Basic life support.
  • Radiation safety.
  • Patient relations.
  • Moving and handling.
  • Create, maintain and up-date the Department website on the JHAH intranet.
  • Orientate new RID staff by:
  • Updating an orientation book on ShareK as appropriate.
  • Compiling the RID Routine Procedural Manual.
  • Creating instructional power point presentations.
  • Administering competency exams.
  • Lecturing.
  • Ensure staffs are informed concerning JHAH and Section policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the supervision of Saudi summer students and Interns and coordinate their Divisional orientation and education/work
  • Exhibits behavior expected of a healthcare worker in the Radiology Imaging Department:
  • Maintains productivity and quality job performance:
  • Demonstrates current theoretical knowledge concerning clinical radiologic procedures in designated area of specialty.
  • Demonstrates current practical knowledge concerning clinical radiologic procedures in designated area of specialty.
  • Critiques radiographic test results.
  • Performs projects and other tasks as assigned:
  • Contribute in student’s evaluation.
  • Communicates with other area leaders and management staff.
  • Informs staff concerning JHAH, division and area policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the new staff orientation to area policies and procedures.
  • Helps and facilitates the training of new staff as per the guidelines established in the QI training program.
  • Serves as a role model for staff with regard to attitude, motivation, operational support, and communication skills.


Bachelors of Science degree in a healthcare related field (preferred).


  • Up to 3 years’ of radiologic technologist clinical experience.
  • Clinical knowledge or working experience of Radiology department workflow (preferred).

Certifications/Other requirements as applicable

  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist or equivalent.
  • Good working experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Strong English language writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • A logical and inquisitive mind with excellent analytical skills.
  • Good team working abilities.
