Basic Function
Working under the general direction of the Head of Digital Communications and Website. Liaise with other internal and external communicators. Consult with business leaders, project managers and subject matter experts to determine digital communication needs. Coordinate digital communication and change management activities with multiple partners across the business. Develop and implement strategic digital communication plans in support of JHAH programs, policies, and services.
Scope
Digital communications specialists are responsible for moderating digital communications throughout the organization. They use various resources, such as social media monitoring and tracking programs for both internal and external communications to follow, analyze and execute communications. Digital communications specialists work to ensure messages are consistent with the overall brand meeting company standards to maintain and promote the positive image on behalf of the organization.
Principal Contacts
Internally, the specialist will be in contact with hospital staff and C-suite, externally with Stakeholders
Principal Duties
- Identifies and influences opportunities to expand the JHAH online presence
- Manages the development, testing, deployment, maintenance and further development of JHAH digital programs, tools and activities.
- Advices and supports management, developers and designers on best practices for web structure functionality design and development.
- Counseling business leaders/project managers in best approaches to organizational digital communications (i.e. verbal, written, presentations).
- Develops content on JHAH services, enhancements, operations and projects for digital usage, often consulting with subject matter specialists.
- Supports major IT projects/programs with communication plans and execution, liaising with the Marketing & Communications Unit.
- Keeps up-to-date with industry standards and trends through healthcare and digital communication related trade publications, literature, network knowledge sharing, and conferences.
- Keeps informed of JHAH and local projects and activity through personal contacts, the Partner Contribution Agreement updates, Highlights and HR, etc.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
- Must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior digital communications role, healthcare experience preferred
- A minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience with website content management systems and maintenance, CMS back-end and front-end development, working knowledge with Microsoft SharePoint, HTML5 and CSS coding working knowledge.
- Experience in creating and executing strategic communication plans.
Certifications/Other requirements as applicable
- Project Management certification preferred
- Must be highly proficient in written and spoken English, particularly as related to the requirements of Journalism.
- Perceptive in handling matters of a confidential nature; adequate background in the cultures, traditions, and beliefs of the various nationalities of his readership, as well as a good knowledge of Saudi press regulations and local sensitivities so as to avoid controversy and offensiveness.
