Basic Function

To provide specialized services to patients for the diagnosis and management of diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system.


The Neurologist is a staff member of Specialty Internal Medicine Services Unit of the Specialty Services Division.  His/her responsibility is divided between the outpatient clinic, in-patient services for both consultation and primary admission and the neuro-diagnostic laboratory.  He/she works under the professional supervision of the Chief of Service.

Principal Contacts

Daily contact with patients, their families, nurses and other physicians, both in general practice and specialty medicine.

Principal Duties

To perform the professional duties of a Neurologist in accordance with the delineation of privileges as recommended by the Chief of Service and approved by the Credential & Privileges Committee.

  • Perform his/her duties in the neurology outpatient clinic, evaluating patients with neurologic diseases.
  • Provide neurology consultation services to inpatients.
  • Provide primary care to inpatients admitted directly to the neurology service.
  • Oversee the operation of the neurophysiology laboratory (EEG, EMG), including the on-going training of the technicians.
  • Provide on-call emergency coverage for neurologic emergencies.
  • Participates in monthly staff meetings and weekly educational conferences within Specialty Internal Medicine Unit.


Minimum of Three (3) years of practice in the field of neurology.

Certifications/Other requirements as applicable

  • Excellent command of oral and written English.
  • Ability to adjust to group practice in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to perform assignments related to the specialty as felt needed for organization growth.
