Job Description Summary

The Social Worker engages in psychosocial counseling and social work activities across all JHAH facilities (Dhahran and districts), providing direct services to patients, including assessments and counseling. The role involves developing and implementing treatment plans, collaborating with other professionals to coordinate services, maintaining accurate and timely documentation, and participating in program activities.

  • Collaborate with physicians to inform them about psychosocial factors affecting patients health aiding in the creation of integrated care plans
  • Participate in disaster response planning and quality improvement initiatives while actively engaging in resource allocation for effective discharge planning thereby optimizing healthcare outcomes and promoting efficient use of resources

Operational Roles & Responsibilities

  • Respond to social work consultation referrals from medical staff providing counseling home and social evaluation and discharge planning forinpatients
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and facilitates communication between patients their families and healthcar providers to support adjustment to illness and enhance overall care
  • Receives supervision from senior social workers to ensure the proper handling of complex cases as it arises
  • Document all interactions in the patient electronic health record EHR and ensures necessary followups for continuity of counseling
  • Participat in interdisciplinary rounds and relevant meetings to contribute to the objectives of the social work program as required

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor degree in Social Work, Sociology or psychology from recognized university.

Professional Certifications Required

Social Worker Certification as approved or granted by the SCFHS

Years of Experience

Minimum 4 years' experience (ideally in a healthcare setting)

Languages

English:Advanced ; Arabic:Fully proficient
