Job Description Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician 3 works in JHAH SPS. Provide processes for reusable items through decontamination, sorting, packaging, sterilizing, and storing procedures. Prepares case carts. Receives guidance and direction from the technician based on organizational and departmental policies and procedures and approved electronic competency evaluation system used in JHAH to improve the well.-being of all patients. As required, work is performed on any shift in the Sterile Processing Services of the Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) facilities. Working hours are assigned to meet operational needs and may include on.-call and scheduled overtime.

    Operational Roles & Responsibilities

    • Handle complex sterilization cases ensuring compliance with clinical and organizational standards
    • Support operational efficiency by coordinating resources and managing workflows
    • Provide adhoc mentorship and guidance to intermediate and junior staff in sterile processing operations
    • Coordinate with clinical teams to support patient care through effective sterile processing
    • Plan and direct the processing preparation storing dispensing checking and ordering of supplies and equipment
    • Participate in and assists the segment staff in carrying out the segments function assessment planning implementation and evaluation
    • Keep aware of safety hazards in the segment and takes necessary corrective action to prevent accidents and applyquality assurance as appropriate
    • Make verbalwritten reports to the segment head regarding the condition and functioning of the equipment in the assigned area eg processing sterilizers aerators washers computer terminals and printers
    • Attend safety andinservice education programs
    • Perform other miscellaneousrelated duties as requested
    • Conduct routine inspection of all equipment used in SPS area

    Minimum Education Required

    Diploma in Sterile Processing, Allied Health, or a related field is required. Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or Science is preferred.

    Professional Certifications Required

    Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) is required.

    Years of Experience

    Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in SPS.
