Basic Function
Plans, implements, co-ordinates and controls activities which provide a variety of area-wide security services and response to inquiries, assuring that sensitive-type corporate and community problems, within assigned JHAH Company and construction camps, are handled with extreme tact and discreet actions. Acts as Security Specialist to the Director - Security Services.
Scope
Responsible for the operation of response to major inquiries of complex overall problems, the emergency communications system, and advice on enforcement of general security, policy,
Procedures. Assignments are usually of major critical proportions. Area of responsibility includes any industrial facility, refinery, terminal, plant and residential or construction camps located within the assigned area. Incumbent executes most work assignments independently, consulting with, or keeping the Security Department Manager and other corporate managers informed as necessary. Responses made or actions taken impact financially on facilities valued at millions of dollars, or on corporate relations with all levels of employees (JHAH’s, Contractor and others), and require tactful interpretation of written and unwritten policies and practices, as actions are subject to being the basis of important operational and related decisions.
Principal Contacts
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL: As necessary with all area-based organization heads, contractor management, and all levels of local Saudi Arab Government officials in conducting activities which may encroach in areas where no specific corporate guidance can be officially stated and are usually confidential and very sensitive.
Principal Duties
- Performs assigned managerial, directive and coordinating functions.
- Serves as the primary advisor within the assigned area for general security, policy, procedures and emergency communication systems.
- Initiates or participates in the development of plans and programs and implements these programs in assigned area, modifying and extending to provide complete coverage as necessary.
- Directs assigned personnel to ensure optimum coverage and monitors performance while taking any necessary corrective action.
- Maintains and is responsible for area Emergency and "E" Programs.
- Receives, determines and directs handling or referring to appropriate Company departments reports of unusual happenings, accidents in the general area, operating, personnel and family Problems, complaints and calls for assistance.
- Develops and coordinates action necessary for protection of important visitors, executives and employees.
- Executes extremely confidential special assignments for the Manager of corporate officers.
- Serves as area liaison for Security and Area Managers with the Navy, associated Company representatives, contractors and others.
- Attends Company project proposal meetings for new construction as a representative of Security.
- Plans, co-ordinates, supervises and instructs area Security training programs for all Security personnel.
- Serves as relief for Security Division Manager when required.
- Performs other related duties as required by the Manager.
Education
- Bachelor degree is required, preferably in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Police Science, Police Management or Security Management.
- Master's Degree is preferred.
Experience
Minimum Ten (10) years' experience in relevant security or investigational work.
Certifications/Other requirements as applicable
- . Excellent command of English; conversational Arabic for the frequent encounters of non-English speaking personnel.
- Must have very good knowledge, understanding of SAG laws and Company policies and procedures and the judgement to effectively carry out the responsibilities as a member of Management in an expatriate environment.
