Job Description Summary

The Training Nurse Educator 1 (TNE1) .- which may work in various JHAH locations and subject to various workshifts .- is responsible for enhancing the knowledge, clinical skills and competencies of nursing staff within the Organization. The CNE will play a critical role in supporting clinical excellence through education, mentorship, and the implementation of evidence.-based practices. This position requires a strong background in clinical nursing, education, and project management.

  • Participate in the recruitment selection onboarding and orientation of nurse trainees ensuring a smooth transition into the clinical environment
  • Identify training objectives and expectations for trainees and create individualized training plans for nurse interns residents and trainees aligning educational goals with clinical competencies
  • Develop design and implement educational materials and sessions that address the specific needs of nursing trainees and essential nursing concepts and skills Assist with preparing trainees for certification exams and assessments as required
  • Organize and conduct training orientation programs that introduce trainees to hospital policies procedures and clinical expectations
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive training experiences and integrate feedback from various departments and maintain open lines of communication with nursing leadership and other stakeholders regarding trainee progress and areas for improvement
  • Provide direct education and mentorship to nursing trainees ensuring they receive guidance in clinical skills and professional development fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages questions and critical thinking
  • Engage and affiliate with internal and external organizational activities and committees focused on nursing education and trainee development
  • Organize and conduct program related activitiesintiatives and provide the necessary documentation Review and update of training plans and educational materials based on feedback and changes in clinical practice
  • Conduct formal formative and summative evaluations for trainees regularly to facilitate their growth Provide reports to nursing leadership regarding trainee progress
  • Promote a culture of inquiry and critical thinking among nursing trainees Serve and lead as a subject matter expert in evidencebased practices guiding nursing trainees and interdisciplinary team in the application of research findings to clinical care and projects

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required Masters and/or clinical teaching certificate are preferred

Professional Certifications Required

Current licensure as a professional registered nurse. Demonstrated strong Oral and Written Communication Skills, Project Management, Quality Improvement, Change management, Time Management and Organizational skills are required.
