Job Description Summary

The Wound Care Nurse 2 works across all JHAH Nursing organization including Dhahran, Al Hasa, Udhailiyah, Ras Tanura, and Abqaiq. Provides a wide range of direct quality and evidence.-based professional nursing care to patients guided by organizational and departmental policies and procedures and approved electronic competency evaluation system used in JHAH to improve the well.-being of all patients.

Operational Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assess plan implement evaluate and reassess as indicated the care of patients with abdominal stomas acute or chronic wounds eg draining wounds fistulae pressure ulcers andor continence concerns
  • Provide appropriate debridement of devitalized tissue eg conservative sharp debridement silver nitrate AgNO3 cauterization of nonproliferative wound edges hyper granulation tissue or to control minor bleeding
  • Collaboratecoordinatecommunicate care with nurses the physician and other health care team members to implement the plan of care and meet the rehabilitation needs for patients with Wound Ostomy Care WOC needs
  • Coordinate discharge plans including followup visits with the WOC nurse as necessary and makes referrals for home health services if needed
  • Evaluate individual patientfamily outcomes in response to the plan of care and the WOC nurses clinical interventions
  • Provide outpatient services including home healthcare patients
  • Provide education to patients and significant others regarding the care of the stoma and peristomal skin ie patients undergoing ostomy surgery caregivers regarding skin care wound management care of percutaneous tubes and draining woundfistulae management and any special considerations that should be reported to the physician as well as provide learningawareness opportunities to update other health care professionals including new staff about current guidelinesstandards of care for patientspopulations with WOC needs or risks
  • Provide eductaional opportunities to update other health care professionals including new staff about current guidelines standards of care for patients populations with WOC needs
  • Collaborate with supply chain to evaluate products and assess new modillity available in the market

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor Degree in Nursing is required. Master Degree in Nursing is preferred .

Professional Certifications Required

International certification in Wound Care Management.

Years of Experience

Minimum 7 years of Nursing Experience and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an acute care setting as a Wound Care Nurse Specialist.
