Basic Function

The IT Technical Consultant is expected to develop and support technical solutions for it JHAH’s catalog of applications.  They should provide high level of technical expertise and professional assistance, advice and guidance in the development and utilization of new and existing solutions.

They should be able to produce solutions to recurring problems, recommend or participate in feasibility and cost studies.  Also, be able to propose alternatives to meet forecasted workloads based on extensive knowledge of current and long-range trends in JHAH’s catalog of applications.

Scope

The required skillsets include demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the ability to develop technical requirements; designing, configuring and prototyping applications; and, as a developer, reading and understanding functional specifications.

Principal Duties

  • Oversee scope of work and documentation;
  • Provide technical guidance for new and existing solutions;
  • Be a subject matter expert for JHAH’s SAP solution;
  • Recommend in feasibility and cost studies for new and current SAP solutions;
  • Propose SAP alternatives to meet forecasted workloads;
  • Develop strategies for new SAP solutions to meet JHAH’s growing needs; and
  • Ensure data integrity and be able to resolve any software vulnerabilities to improve and ensure system’s security.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a Computing / IT Field.
  • Master’s Degree in related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years hands on experience with IT systems analysis, programming, testing and implementation;
  • Ability to develop project proposals, plan and deliverables;
  • Able to conduct User Acceptance testing;
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools is desirable;
  • Project management skills are required; and
  • Ensure timely resolution of production issues to JHAH applications.

Certifications/Other requirements as applicable

  • SAP certification is desirable;
  • Knowledge of Healthcare environment is desirable;
  • Presentation skills are necessary; and
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills are required.
