Basic Function

Assist Security Advisor in all areas on a wide variety of security services, handling sensitive corporate and community problems. Conduct highly confidential surveillances and investigations of company operations on projects as well as community- related problems.

Provides staff support for JHAH Departments; by performing security surveys and follow-up; preparing security plans, policies, manuals and operating instructions; researching and developing new security equipment, systems and concepts; developing training programs; and recommending budgets and accountability reports.

Performs activities for planning, supervising, coordinating and controlling a variety of area-wide security services and inquiry response. 

Scope

Geographical areas served will include all JHAH camps and facilities, industrial and residential on a routine basis to deal with fact-finding operations. Provides surveillance, coordination and participation requiring a high degree of tact and diplomacy to protect Company interests. Conducts surveillances of material deliveries and movements valued in millions of dollars. Conducts investigations of a highly sensitive nature in areas related to criminal activities requiring knowledge of investigation. Incumbent will possess skills which include lifting and identifying latent fingerprint (s) from the crime scene, photographing and identifying crime scene evidence, identifying drugs and narcotics with the use of specialized tests, making facial composites, taking plasters casts, identifying stolen property, and others.  

Reports administratively to Operations Manager - Area Security Operations Manager, and monitor security advisors, receives work direction from Security Operations Manager, Specialist and consultant.  

Provides staff services to all security, emergency planning and other related activities in JHAH. Responsible within the assigned area for responses to major inquiries of overall problems; emergency communications; and general advice on enforcement of security, policy, procedures and rules.

Principal Contacts

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL: Contacts are with all levels of JHAH employees and their dependents, and contractor management and JHAH personnel such as those to conduct interviews to resolve sensitive situations. Interfaces in coordination with JHAH Government affairs with company management, Government affairs, Local Police, other outside company representative, SAG officials and visitors as required.

Most contacts are sensitive and require tactful interpretation of Company policies and procedures.

Principal Duties

  1. Conducts investigations requiring tact and good judgement, records and reports progress of the investigation and other pertinent information.
  2. Participates in the development of emergency programs and implements these programs in assigned area; modifying and extending programs to provide complete coverage.
  3. Handles personally, directs or refers to appropriate Company departments, assigned reports of unusual happenings, accidents in the general area, operating, personnel and family problems, Complaints and calls for assistance. 
  4.   Coordinates and directs action necessary for protection of important visitors, executives and employees.
  5. Executes extremely confidential special assignments for the Manager or corporate officers.
  6. Attends Company project proposal meetings for new construction as a representative of Security as assigned. 
  7. Provides assistance for training activities, audits on-the-job training and monitors progress of trainees with high potential for further development.
  8. Conducts and directs surveillances of selected material and equipment deliveries where misappropriation and unauthorized movement is suspected.
  9. Observes public attitudes and trends which may affect the Company security posture and submits written reports for management information.
  10. Prepares special studies and conducts surveys of industrial facilities and community areas as directed.
  11. Provides technical assistance to the Security Shift Coordinators in sensitive investigations.
  12. Provides emergency response as required during critical situations.
  13. Performs miscellaneous related duties as requested by the Operations Manager.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Police Science, Police Management or Security Management.

 

Experience

More than 10 Years work experience, preferably in security or investigational work.

Certifications/Other requirements as applicable

  • Excellent command of the English language and ability to communicate orally and via written reports in a clear, concise manner.
  • Must be tactful, resourceful and discreet in dealing with matters of a sensitive and highly confidential nature. Comprehensive knowledge of Company and SAG regulations, policies and procedures regarding the applicable security areas.
